We are in a beautiful and peaceful setting like no other in Washington. Our emphasis is on massage therapy and hydrotherapy. We are a spa but are more like a day retreat. Our retreat is unique. We are in a peaceful setting located in the countryside in Snohomish County. Surrounded by old growth trees, we have created a sanctuary full of Southeast Asian treasures and antiques. Our licensed massage practitioners are highly skilled and trained. Each therapist works under the guidance of Frederick Steffen and can provide combinations of Eastern and Western massage treatments. The Gated Sanctuary is the vision of Frederick Steffen. Frederick recently celebrated his 25th anniversary of being licensed as a massage practitioner in Washington. But his experience with massage goes much farther back than 25 years. When he was just 9 years old his mother had him trained in massage so he could help relieve some of her symptoms from Multiple Sclerosis. Since receiving this training as a child Frederick has developed his intuitive talent for massage and has specialized in a combination of Eastern and Western deep tissue techniques.
