Anyone thinking of getting a JML Halogen Oven be warned that the bulbs are prone to blow at chance (you may be lucky and get 2-3 years out of them, you may be unlucky and get less than a Month)
But the things are an absolute frickin’ nightmare to replace, They seriously couldn’t have made it harder even if they tried. It’s seriously not worth buying one until they make a serious revision to it as it’s a TERRIBLY designed product.
Any of you guys can explain or show how to clean the base of the halogen oven? The base can’t clean in its self cleaning function or just by wiping it w/ a wet cloth. If you use it a few times it will be very messy so how you guys can clean the base?? JML can you please show something????
The one in Aldi cost just £30 and came with two racks, two trays (steamer and baking), tongs and stand for the lid.
This looks identical to one I bought at Aldi 2 days ago. I used it for the first time tonight – 12 Birdseye chicken dippers. I followed the instructions for a fan oven (190 deg for 17 mins) and this was the correct time for the halogen oven. They tasted great (well, as great as chicken dippers can taste!) and very moist. If anything, they were slightly more greasy on the outside than when cooked in my oven. Not keen on the lid – I can foresee a burn – but so far so good. Good for cakes I hope.
My mum has one of these, infact we even made the same roll your own croissants. The dough started falling through the holes and if you put anything near the halagen bulb it cooked too fast and burns. It’s useless =___=
@bankruptstate Tell me about it, next time I’ll stick to the third party cheaper non-branded versions.

I really didn’t think that anybody actually bought JML stuff.
I am genuinely surprised it lasted as long as 3 months.
Hard luck.
I’m kinda pissed that the bulb on these JML halogen ovens are forever blowing, Mine lasted less than 3 months and JML refused to replace it. :(

The air doesnt rotate that fast when theres water in it. But overall it is a great oven!
It bakes a lot faster.

My Halogen Oven arrived on Thursday :) The packaging was badly damaged but as far as I could see the oven itself was okay. I used it for the first time today only to be disappointed by the fact that the timer doesn’t work :/ I set it to 18 minutes to cook some oven chips,after 15 minutes the timer hadn’t moved. I have been asked to return the oven and a new one will be sent in it’s place :) Even though this was unfortunate, I still like the oven and am looking forward to receiving my next one :)
this exact device was first invented in the philippines during the early 70′s. except we use the typical electric element instead of halogen. the result: perfection! Just like a regular convection oven but mini.
I think i’ll give it a try!

Have you seen the ones featuring Mr.T? You will wet yourself at how poorly scripted it was. I mean it was as cheesy as a cheese convention. Will make you laugh and squirm in equal measures.
lol yeh. Never again. JML stuff are great but this was really disappointing and the way they praise it on the advert is over the top..
@xpinksparkx Thanks hun. I wont ever buy one of these again and i’m not even part of another rival halogen cooker companys. I wont poison my loved ones with this “out of a box of cornflakes” cooker.
