San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 02, 2011

Scoma’s Restaurant, a San Francisco seafood restaurant in Fisherman’s Wharf, presents a basic guide to their simple yet stunning Roasted Dungeness Crab dish using crabs provided locally.

The recipe calls for one whole Dungeness crab, cleaned and cracked, and other ingredients common in most kitchen cupboards. The rest of the ingredients include: 3 large garlic cloves, chopped and lightly browned, 3 ounces (about 6 tablespoons) extra virgin olive oil, 1⁄2 lemon, 1/8 teaspoon salt and ground pepper, 1 teaspoon fresh Italian parsley, chopped, and 2 lemon wedges.

To prepare the Roasted Dungeness Crab:

1.    Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.

2.    Place cracked crab in a heavy skillet that fits inside the oven.

3.    Combine garlic and olive oil and pour over crab. Add salt and pepper and toss well.

4.    Roast in oven for 12-15 minutes.

5.    Remove from oven and squeeze lemon over crab. Garnish with parsley and lemon wedges. Serve in a large bowl with a crab fork.

“The crabs we got are big, full and sweet,” said Chef Kelly Bennett of Scoma’s Restaurant.

Scoma’s is loved for their succulent crab cakes, hearty cioppino and most of all for their fresh, sustainable seafood. Their commitment to clean oceans and rivers is proven by their support of fishing communities in California and across the nation. With their motto – reduce, re-use, recycle – Scoma’s is one of San Francisco’s most environmentally aware restaurants. They are one of San Francisco’s only restaurants to own a licensed fish preparation station, which permits public viewing of seafood as it’s prepared for the kitchen daily.
